Congratulations on your decision to apply for a firearms licence and get involved with one of the fastest-growing sports in Australia and the biggest sporting shooters branch in Australia.

SSAA (NSW) Sydney Branch Inc. are proud to promote the safe, fun and unique range of shooting available sports. Shooting is a sport that can be enjoyed by people of all ages (12 and over), backgrounds and athletic abilities. Increasingly it is recognised as a great family sport, so why not look to sign up some of your family!!

Now that you have decided to apply for your NSW Firearms Licence there are some things you must know.

The first step in applying for your licence is to contact the NSW Firearms Registry and ask to receive licence application forms. You can contact the Firearms Registry on 1300 362 562.

Please note SSAA (NSW) Sydney Branch Inc. can only support an A/B Category Licence for Target Shooting & Hunting and a Category G Collector Licence.

In NSW you must have a genuine reason to obtain a Firearms Licence. This can be target shooting, hunting or collecting. To support each of these genuine reasons you must belong to an approved club.

Fortunately, members of SSAA (NSW) Sydney Branch Inc. can use their membership to support their genuine reason for having a firearms licence.

Once you have requested your application and become a member of SSAA (NSW) Sydney Branch Inc. you are now ready to complete your Safe Shooting course. For more information about finding a Safe Shooting instructor close to you CLICK HERE

Once you have satisfied your genuine reason and completed your Safe Shooting course you are now ready to send your application off to the NSW Firearms Registry.
